The past couple weeks we’ve been building with jenga blocks and recycled scrap wood. We constructed harbors and boats, we created fantastical fortresses and powerful walls but most of all built towers. Towers built on our own and towers built with friends.
If there has been one thing in common with all the structures built … They were all Demolished. Some were demolished by removing one pillar, some were demolished by kicking and pushing. A couple were demolished by extreme weather and earthquakes. Some were demolished cued by a count down and others demolished on accident. Check out the array of videos I’ve captured!
Consider the things each child learned in the process of constructing and deconstructing. Consider how the community played a part in each demolition and how it must of felt for each builder to destroy in his/her own way. This has been a powerful experience for everyone involved.
